PREMIUM Insurance Company Limited was founded in 2015 under the laws of Gibraltar and authorised to conduct insurance business in 2016 by the Gibraltar Financial Services Commission (www.fsc.gi).
Following the United Kingdom's decision to withdraw from the European Union (known as “Brexit”), PREMIUM Insurance Company Limited moved its registered office to Malta in order to maintain the company’s access to the European single market.
PREMIUM Insurance Company Limited is currently registered in the Maltese Register of Companies under registration number: C 91171, from which it operates under an insurance license issued by The Malta Financial Services Authority (http://www.mfsa.com.mt) on March 26, 2019.
The above changes concerning the domicile of PREMIUM Insurance Company Limited, its license and the supervisory authority have no effect on PREMIUM Insurance Company Limited’s business relations with its business partners and clients. All insurance or other contracts concluded by PREMIUM Insurance Company Limited remain in force and the rights and obligations of the parties established by these contracts remain in full.
PREMIUM Insurance Company Limited is authorised to conduct insurance business in the territory of the Slovak Republic on the basis of freedom of establishment through its organizational unit PREMIUM Poisťovňa, a branch of an insurace company from another Member State registered by the National Bank of Slovakia. PREMIUM Insurance Company Limited is also authorised to conduct insurance business in the territory of the Czech Republic on the basis of freedom of services.
PREMIUM Insurance Company Limited from 1. 2. 2017 entered into the register of public sector partners of the Slovak Republic established under Slovak Act. No. 315/2016 Coll. on Register of Public Sector Partners and on any amendment and on Amendments to Certain Acts, as amended.
PREMIUM Insurance Company Limited as well as its organizational unit PREMIUM Poisťovňa, a branch of an insurance company from another Member State are also entered in the List of Economic Entities maintained by the Public Procurement Office of the Slovak Republic pursuant to the Section 152 of the Slovak Act No. 343/2015 on Public Procurement and on Amending and Supplementing Certain Acts, as amended.

Mojmír Vedej – Executive Chairman of the Board of Directors
A highly-respected insurance professional with over 24 years’ industry experience including senior management positions with AIG, Allianz and Respect Slovakia.
Peter Valent – Financial Director and Member of the Board of Directors
Professional with over 20 years of experience in the financial field. He gained his expertise while working in various positions within financial structures in the insurance companies of the AIG group (for Slovakia and the Czech Republic), where he worked in various positions within financial structures, and at Colonnade in a regional controlling position, where he was in charge of branches in 7 countries.
Marek Benko – Non-Executive Member of the Board of Directors
Recognized lawyer with more than 17 years of experience in the insurance industry, including the provision of legal services in the field of financial intermediation and in representing the clients in damages proceedings.
Sean Agius – Executive Member of the Board
An authorized professional with more than 27 years of experience in the insurance industry, where he has worked in the top management of several commercial insurance companies, specializing in risk management and compliance control. He also lectures at several Maltese financial education institutions and he is a supporting lecturer at the University of Malta.
Karl Micallef – Independent Non-Executive Member of the Board of Directors
An authorized financial analyst with more than 20 years of experience in the field of investment, focusing mainly on providing investment solutions for insurance companies and occupational pension schemes.
Jessica Stivala – Independent Non-Executive Member of the Board of Directors
An authorised certified qualified accountant with more than 10 years of experience in the insurance regulation, having held a senior management position with the Insurance & Pension Supervision Unit of the Malta Financial Services Authority.
